Project: Automated Power Seed Drill
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center (IEDC) is a government-funded organization in India that invests in the ideas of young entrepreneurs.
The Automated Power Seed Drill is a ground-breaking agricultural machine designed to revolutionize conventional seed sowing techniques while reducing costs by 30%. As the team lead, my role was pivotal in the technical aspects of the project, focusing on the design and development of the gear-driven and autonomous seed sowing mechanism.
To secure the necessary investment of INR 30,000, I successfully pitched the project to investors, highlighting the technical innovations and cost-saving benefits of the Automated Power Seed Drill. I played a critical role in selecting appropriate materials and components for the construction of the machine, ensuring its affordability and ease of use for various farming activities.
During the procurement phase, my responsibilities included conducting extensive market surveys to identify reliable suppliers. I meticulously compared prices and assessed the quality of the materials and components required for the seed drill. Additionally, I managed the logistics to ensure timely delivery, ensuring uninterrupted progress in the development process.
As the project progressed, I actively participated in the fabrication process, overseeing each manufacturing stage and enforcing compliance with safety regulations. I collaborated closely with the fabrication team, providing expert guidance to ensure accurate assembly of the seed drill. Rigorous quality control measures were implemented to meet high standards and deliver a reliable final product.
One of my key contributions was the design and development of the power train mechanism. I focused on integrating the engine and transmission system to optimize power delivery and efficiency for the seed drill. Through extensive testing and fine-tuning, I ensured the power train mechanism performed optimally, enhancing the overall performance and reliability of the Automated Power Seed Drill.
Moreover, I concentrated on the technical aspects of the seed sowing mechanism, specifically the gear-driven mechanism and its autonomous operation without relying on engine power. This innovation was achieved by utilizing a towing wheel system, enabling the seed drill to operate autonomously while maintaining precision and accuracy. Additionally, I worked on the engine power transmission belt drive mechanism, optimizing its efficiency to ensure seamless power transfer within the machine.
The Automated Power Seed Drill represents a significant technological advancement in the field of agriculture. By offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for seed sowing, it empowers farmers to increase productivity while reducing manual labor. With its innovative technical features and improved performance, the Automated Power Seed Drill enables farmers to achieve higher yields with minimal effort.
